TTURC Scientific
Accomplishments
UCI TTURC Products & Outcomes
Our TTURC is centered
at U.C. Irvine, with investigators from 16 departments across 8 schools
actively participating in various research projects. We enjoy a long and distinguished
record in neuroscience research. A common theme has been the
integration of approaches across traditional disciplines,
departments, and levels of analysis.
UCI
TTURC Scientific Presentations
Several of our
researchers have presented their studies at various national and
international scientific conferences. In 2004 and 2005, UCI
TTURC researchers will present their findings at youth summits,
tobacco control conferences, and at other appropriate venues.
If you would like to
have one of our researchers share their findings on how adolescents
become vulnerable to tobacco and why teens are most vulnerable to
tobacco addiction,
please submit your requests to Louri Groves at
lgroves@uci.edu or (949)
824-9307.
TTURC Network Cross Center Collaborations
Cross center
collaborations have been developed to improve the infrastructure and
leverage limited resources for tobacco research.
TTURC Research Publications
Currently it the
fifth year, investigators from the seven TTURC Centers are engaged in a wide range of
studies, including treatment advances, youth smoking, risk across
the lifespan, animal models of smoking, co-morbidities with tobacco
use, role of genetics, cultural factors, and policies and practices
related to tobacco and smoking.
National Cancer Institute TTURC Scientific Accomplishments

are creating innovative research techniques and technologies that
are providing new perspectives on tobacco use and addiction, and are
pioneering interventions to decrease tobacco use."
